Wati's November 09 Challenge

We are proud to announce that Wati Basri has graciously accepted for us to be our Guest Designer this month.  As most of you may know,  Wati was the owner of Scrappin Kids and is on the DT on several scrapping sites.  For more of Wati's information,  do hop over to her blog here.

Wati's challenge for this month was something of a hard nut to crack for most of the designers here.  Most of us fretted over it and some even claimed that they lost some hair over it - LOL...  Enough said here is the challenge this month:

"Please scrap a layout with the title comprising of the letters - "S",  "I" and "L"  which are the acronyms of Scrap-it-Lah."

Here are what all the designers' takes on the challenge:

Wati's take:

We love Wati's oh-so romantic take with her "So In Love" page and her beautiful wedding pictures.

Nilla's take:

Nilla has scrapped this very picturesque photo.  We love the calm seas and and her beautiful, soothing colour combination and her lovely embellishments in her piece titled "Sailing if Life."

Mazlina's take:

Mazlina came up with such a sweet layout of her 2 kids cuddling in bed.  We love it how she mixed our National language,  Bahasa Malaysia and English together to create such sweet title:  "Sayang itu Love",  which means - "It means Love my dear."

    Jessy's Take:

Jessy the consumate photographer did it again.  This layout is stunning with the profusion of beautiful photos and her piece is titled :"Some Interesting Looks"

Michelle's take:

I was quite stumped for a while till I came across this photo of Sean taken by Sarah Grasset.  I loved it very much and I have decided to use it can call it "Sean It Loud."  It would probably be meaningless for someone who glances the title but if you read the journalling - I would like Sean to live his life out loud.  In essence to life his life fully and make a difference in whatever he does.

Presenting our very yummy RAK for this month:

The Simple Challenge

Hi everyone! Another new month and another new challenge. Confucious said that

"Life is simple but we insist on making it complicated."

The word "Simple" carries a myriad of meanings to different people. Here are a couple of examples of some simple quotes:

"Women have simple tastes. They get pleasure out of the conversation of children in arms and men in love."
By : H. L. Mencken

"The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life."

By: Robert Louis Stevenson

"To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter... to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life."

By: John Burroughs

Hence, we would like to find out what is your interpretation of the word "Simple" on a 12 by 12 layout. Please send your submissions in via our email - chowchow138@gmail.com or through our comments section by Saturday, 31st October, 2009 (Malaysian Time). Any entries received later than this time would not be considered and please note that the layout sent should solely be submitted for the Scrap-it-Lah challenge and not for any other challenges.

We leave you with the beautiful creations of the DTs this month. Here they are in no particular order.

Michelle's take:

Michelle made a layout on one of the simple pleasures which her family enjoys which is cycling. Nothing beats having the carefree feeling of cycling and having wind in your hair - its simple yet very pleasurable.

Mazlina's Take:
A child's sleep - most important - plain and simple. Sleep is so under-rated yet its very important to a child's healthy growth. Maz also stresses that a kid's life is simple and worry-free.

Nilla's take:
A beautiful orchid - thats just what took Nilla's breath away when she scrapped this. Oh - such simple beauty.

Jessy's Take:
Jessy scrapped about her hubby whom she loves dearly for his simple and easy disposition.

Here is the RAK that you stand to win this month. Just remember to Scrap-It-Lah!

We are pleased to announce the winner of the September SIL Challenge is:
