Hi ladies! Here is the Scrap-It-Lah's July challenge. We would like to present you the Malaysian Breakfast Challenge.

Malaysian Breakfast Challenge

Is anyone hungry? The following consists of what a typical Malaysian breakfast will be.

 Your challenge this month would be to order your own version of a Malaysian breakfast using the items below.

1. For this challenge you need to make your own combo meal consisting of 4 items- a main dish, a side dish, dessert, and don't forget the drink!

2. Each item on the menu corresponds with something that you must use on your layout. 

You may scrap on any theme.

3. All layouts need to be new and submitted only for Scrap-it-Lah. You may not recycle any old layouts for this challenge. 

4. All orders must be placed by Friday the 31st July, 2009, 12 am (Malaysian Time)

5. Here's the menu. Please post you order as a reply in this thread. Remember you are ordering one (1) main dish, one side dish, one dessert and one drink.

Main Dish:

Nasi Lemak = Use chipboards/stickers

Mee Goreng = Use ribbon

Nasi Kerabu = Use glitter

Curry Laksa = Use buttons

Lontong = Use brads

Side Dish :

Ayam Goreng = Journal on paper strips

Sambal Sotong = Handwritten Journaling

Telur Goreng = Journal around something

Roti Canai = Journal on your photo

Sambal Petai Udang = Hidden journaling

Dessert :

Curry Puff = Use rhinestones/crystals

Kueh Lapis = use paint/ink

Kueh Koci = Sew on your layout

Pisang Goreng = Use rub-ons

Ang Koo = Use staples

Drinks :

Teh Tarik = Make your own patterned paper

Kopi = Use Black or White cardstock

Air Bandung = Use polka dot paper

Teh O' Ais Limau= Your choice of papers

Milo = Use striped paper

Winner Announcement for the May Challenge

We thought and pondered over it.  There were 2 layouts that caught our eyes and we just couldn't decide.  As a result,  we have decided to create a whole new category of winners this month.  Firstly,  Scrap-it-Lah  (SIL) is essentially a Malaysian site - so why not award 2 RAKS this month?  One for the Malaysian winner and another for our international submission.

June Sketch Challenge

Gosh - how time flies. Its June already and its a brand new month and we begin it with more news from the Scrap-it-Lah team. This month we have more news for you. Scrap-it-lah is growing and we have another additional 2 DT members on board. They are Mazlina and Nilla respectively. We would like to welcome them on board and we look forward to more inspirations from them.

With each new month, we have another challenge up for you. This month, we bring you this sketch by Jessy. This is the same sketch that we have used at the crop party and we figured that you may want to Scrap-It-Lah too...

Challenge Rules are as below:

Make a layout based on the sketch given. Designs are open to your own interpretation but they have to be recognizable.

You must make a hand made flower consisting of these 2 elements:

1) paper and

2) buttons.

You are free to add any more elements if you wish like brads,  stickles etc.  But please note that you will need to have at least these 2 elements in your flower.

You are most welcome to submit more than 1 entry in our challenges.  Challenge is due on the 30th June,  2009,  Malaysian Time.  Please be informed that we will not entertain any more entries thereafter.
